Accounts, lists and API workflows

Start with simple commands, then use advanced API options when needed.

Receive tweets

Follow accounts or X lists

The fastest setup is command-based: add a single account with /add, or subscribe to an X list with /add_twitter_list.

Single account

From a single X account

You can follow a specific X account with the /add command.

/add @accountName

Example: /add @elonmusk

X list

From an X list

To receive tweets from an X list, use /add_twitter_list listID.

For example, to subscribe to https://x.com/i/lists/1461248048525414405, type:

/add_twitter_list 1461248048525414405

Pros

Unlimited accounts can be added to the list.

Cons

You cannot receive replies from an X list.

Premium and Elite subscribers can use API-based X/Twitter workflows for faster or more advanced integrations.

Use your own X/Twitter API key

If you are an X/Twitter developer subscriber and have a Free, Basic or Pro plan subscription, you can use your own API key.

  1. Open the X/Twitter developer portal and access your project’s Keys and tokens page.
  2. The bot needs the Bearer token. Generate one if you do not already have one, then copy it.
  3. Go to the Bridge2 website and open the Twitter bridge.
  4. Enter the username of the account you want to receive tweets from, paste the Bearer token, select whether you want replies and retweets, then click Display.
  5. On the next screen, click Copy command and paste it into the bot chat window.

You can configure the bot to post to X/Twitter. First, create a developer account on the X/Twitter developer portal. A Free subscription lets you post 1500 messages per month.

  1. Create or open your X/Twitter developer account.
  2. When asked to describe your usage, you can use the text below.
  3. Open the default project, then in SettingsUser authentication settings, click Set up.
  4. Select Read and write and Native App.
  5. Enter https://elite.thefeedreaderbot.com/TwitterOAuth2.aspx as the Callback URI, and https://tfrbot.com as the Website URL.
  6. On the next screen, copy the Client ID and Client Secret in a secure location.
  7. In Telegram, send your Client ID to the Elite bot with the /twitter command.
  8. Click the authorization link and authorize the app.
  9. Finally, open the template page with /template, then select which feed you want to post on X/Twitter.

I plan to use the Twitter API to automatically post messages derived from RSS feeds. The application will fetch updates from these feeds and publish them as tweets on a connected Twitter account. The usage is limited to posting updates automatically without collecting or analyzing user data. I will ensure full compliance with Twitter's policies and guidelines.
